Alpha Playthrough

Technical Summary:

The above videos show a collective playthrough of the earliest packaged product that we'd spent the past months developing. The second video is a follow-up to the first by having some smaller additions before we returned in March to begin working through Beta. The benefit of these two videos, is that they have all the important elements that outline the basics of the game, and can really stand out in their own right, which I feel will be something lost if I do a similar format for Beta.

Reflection:

Alpha Production has served as a very strong start towards the vision we have for our game. Having spent just over a month on creating this very simple prototype, there is a lot that both me and my team are proud of. I'm significantly happy with the pace that we all took on to accomplish what we have, and the lengths we have pushed ourselves to. I have certainly learned a lot of new information and skills throughout the past months that will benefit me greatly in the future, as well as pushing our creativity and expanding onto what makes a game fun. As mentioned, I feel like the format of these two videos won't be appropriate for showing all the new content, especially the methods we add over the next few months, so I should instead follow those methods to show how unique the experience between them is, but also showing some more obscure and optional features the player could miss.
